Status update about my "media center" Youta (TUI audio player for Youtube and other sources). [https://github.com/vitaly-zdanevich/youta](https://github.com/vitaly-zdanevich/youta "Low-resource (it mean no fan noise) TUI audio player for YouTube (also Music) through yt-dlp, Bandcamp, Apple Podcasts and RSS, with local… · 12 stars · Languages: Rust 95%, JavaScript 2%, TypeScript 2% · 590 commits · 1 fork · 6 open issues/PRs · MIT · last push 2026-10-20")

It was a productive few months about this project that I love. With #llm - the development is so fast. Its a new language for me - #rust (because of CPU/RAM), and I mostly do not read the code - but I validate the result as a user, and we (me and #codex) have #tests.

Started as not a big project - just play Youtube, oh ok lets play this website also, and this, and local files - so good file manager was integrated. And now - it has many unusual powerful features, unique for an audio player. #wikidata integration / AcoustID, domain information, even ":" command-mode as in Vim, and ability to add custom buttons (for example, if you want to call FFmpeg for a file with predefined set of parameters).

And improvements, improvements of many details, performance, usability, simplicity. Media center of dream. My friend Kiryl Tarasenka added real GUI (based on web tech), great, thanks, just I am more into TUI.

From Youta - you can also upload to #commons, #internet_archive (and play from it and #librivox), #evernote - I do not know any other "audio player" with such functions.

And recently I added something crazy - youta can show a QR for a #youtube channel - so your phone can fetch all (or after some episode) audios to a #podcast app (for example #antennapod), through your #lan, can you imagine that.

#golang

What will be printed?

package main

import (
  "fmt"
)

func main() {
  foo := 1
  defer fmt.Println(foo)
  Up(&foo)
  defer fmt.Println(foo)
}

func Up(bar *int) {
  *bar = *bar + 1
}

Answer:

And now - wrapped #defer with a func:

package main

import (
  "fmt"
)

func main() {
  foo := 1
  defer func() {
    fmt.Println(foo)
  }()
  Up(&foo)
  defer func() {
    fmt.Println(foo)
  }()
}

func Up(bar *int) {
  *bar = *bar + 1
}

Это фанатский мод: от первого лица с оружием CS ходишь по картам и кампаниям Warcraft III, мир и квесты остаются варкрафтовскими.

Нужны Warcraft III 1.26a и файлы CS 1.6.
